Kuala Lumpur, 4 May, 2018: Kuala Lumpur International Book Fair (KLIBF) held on April 27th, 2018. It was a 10 days long event organize at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC). Ministry of Education Malaysia organized this event through National Book Council of Malaysia (NBCM) in collaboration with 6 Malaysian book industry federations.
National Book Council of Malaysia has hosted another round of episode of Kuala Lumpur International Book Festival 2018. This was the biggest book fair event that takes place in a calendar year in Malaysia. The event featured various book publishers, enabling them to display their thoughts and imaginations in the form of writing.
The event featured different genre of writing, biography, fiction, thriller, baby & kids category from various well known and especially new writers. The event cultivates the habit of reading among people.
Spokesperson of the event commented, “We are determined to provide people something valuable to read. The book fair event helps to foster the art of reading. It also provides an opportunity to many new publishers to showcase their skills in the mega event.”
Moreover, the event also highlighted the modern era of reading style. As we are surrounded by technology and its benefits, our world is becoming more digitalized. The younger generation picks cell phone first rather than a book. Taking inspiration from the digital world, BACA arranged a unique way of reading. BACA unveiled new paradigm of the learning process through digital content sharing on various platforms to cater young generation and baby & kids category.
To promote the culture of reading, the entry was free for general public. It has been estimated that there were more than 750 booths to display from various foreign publishers, local publishers, local government agencies and foreign government agencies.
Besides, there were other different attractions for guests coming in Malaysia. The place is honoured with lavish green rainforests and white sand shorelines. The Petronas Tower is likewise the best fascination for visitors.
